American Idol Teams with iTunes

Download American Idol Top 24 Songs on iTunes

Starting Monday, an Idol-free day in the TV universe, fans can pre-order American Idol's Top 24's vocal performances through iTunes.

The Top 24 American Idol - Season Seven

Unlike the rest of iTunes, where shows and tracks are ranked by popularity, the site isn't releasing any sales information about American Idol.

According to the Idol's iTunes store the reason is to maintain Fox New Channel-esque decorum - which means...

"iTunes and Fox are committed to presenting contestants in a fair and balanced manner online and on-air," the site says. "For this reason, sales performances from American Idol contestants from the current season will not be reflected in the iTunes charts."

The Top 24's audio tracks are selling for 99 cents each. As of Mar. 11, videos of the show's Top 12 finalists will be available for $1.99 per clip.

iTunes has long aided Idol music. Jordin Sparks has struggled to sell albums but she has received a lot of downloads. As of this week "Tattoo", her new single stood at 24 on iTunes Top Songs chart.

American Idol - Asia'h Survives Round One

Asia'h Epperson has made it to the final 20 on American Idol.

There were few surprises with the first round of eliminations and most of the chatter surrounding the show this year is over Idol hopeful Carly Smithson and a few of the other Idols who have professional pasts. The shows claim to fame has always been to find obscure talent and make them into recording artists. Carly Smithson, 24, has made headlines because she has had a pre-idol music career; The singer who hails from Ireland, recorded a debut album in 2001 called "Ultimate High," for MCA Records. It crashed and burned big time selling only 400 copies after the label spent more than $2 million trying to sell it. Ooops!

Kristy Lee Cook once had a deal in Nashville with Arista Records and rocker Robbie Carrico was part of the pop group Boyz N Girlz United.

Paula referenced this criticism in the elimination round show by stating, "If they hadn't already tried to make a name for themselves, then they don't deserve to be in (the) competition." She also added that Kelly Clarkson had pursued a recording career before Idol as well.

Thursday's elimination show also featured the Video of Paula Abdul's new single, "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow." which was produced by fellow Judge Randy Jackson.

"American Idol," is currently airing 3 days a week until March 11 when the elimination of the final dozen begins. The finale will be held in the spring.

Check out PopCritics for a good review of the individual performances this week.

American Idol Releases Photos

American Idol contestants model for promo pics.

American Idol has released new photos of the current top 24 contestants. After the lack luster performance of the top 12 men last night we need something to spark interest in the show. You can see Asia'h Epperson dressed in black - still in mourning perhaps, in the photo below. All photos courtesy of Fox.

American Idol - Fox

Asia'h Epperson will be performing tonight as the 12 girls take to the stage for the first round of voter eliminations.

While a few of the men did alright last night the song choices left a lot to be desired and nobody really left a great impression. Hopefully the ladies will turn things up a notch this evening.

Tonight's American Idol airs at 8:00 eastern/7:00 Central on Fox.

American Idol Top 24 - Asia'h Epperson

Celebrity Photos and News - American Idol

Asia'h Epperson

It seems the list of American Idol's Top 24 finalists leaked onto the net last week was legitimate. 18 year old Asia'h Epperson survived Hollywood week as predicted and now begins her journey towards American Idol Top 12. The producers of the top rated reality series have shown us very little of Asia'h's singing ability preferring instead to play up her heartwrenching loss of her father in a car accident just days before her audition in Atlanta.

Asia'h Epperson - American Idol

Will Asia'h Epperson be American Idol's season seven winner?

Celebrity News, Videos, Photos

With the completion of the pre Hollywood screening rounds American Idol now moves on to California in order to trim 160 plus contestants down to the final 24 Idols. This list will be made up of the top 12 girls and the top 12 boys.

Asia'h has both the looks and singing ability to pull it off but more than this she has the early lead in the sympathy vote as her father was killed in a car crash just two days before her Atlanta audition. The news of this effected all the judges, none more so than Paula Abdul who wept openly and had to leave the set momentarily. It was a touching moment as Asia'h sang "How Do I Live" by Leanne Rimes for her late father.

You can watch the Asia'h Epperson American Idol Audition Video Below

Asia'h Epperson Video - "How Do I Live"

Did you shed a tear for Asia'h? Hard not too...

Keep an eye on this 18 year old from Joplin, MO. Unlike most of the other contestants rumored to be in the top 24 Asia'h seems to be a true walk in talent. Rumor has it that the Top 24 list has been leaked to the internet and most of the finalists are professional singers - many having previous recording contracts. After poor performances last year American Idol has promised a better result this year - hence the sudden influx of singers who are already earning a living in the music industry.

Asia'h Epperson Photos

There are few pics of Asia'h as of this posting but rest assured that Photo Gallery's of this sweet young lady will begin appearing all over the internet. As usual American Idol has aready removed Asia'h's myspace page - a sure sign she is in the final 24.
